Launch of the 2017 RSYC-Westports Community Youth Sailing Programme

The RSYC-Westports Community Youth Sailing Programme continues to provide exposure in sailing to students in Pulau Indah, Port Klang, through various state and national-level competitions, including being part of the Selangor state team at the Kejohanan Pelayaran 2017. This year marks the third year of partnership between Westports Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the Royal Selangor Yacht Club (RSYC).

Malaysia joined the list of countries with LEGO® stores in January 2014 with the opening of the country’s first LEGO® Store in Bangsar Village II, Kuala Lumpur. It now celebrates the opening of the latest retail outlet, the flagship store at Pavilion Elite. The LEGO® Store Pavilion Elite is the seventh LEGO® Store in the country and is located on the sixth floor of the Pavilion Elite shopping mall at Jalan Bukit Bintang. It is owned by ALJ Distributors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Marini's on 57 - It's All About House Music

The Marini’s on 57 “It’s All About House Music” 2017 season kicked off with the WNight #REDPARTY on 17 February which saw Ibiza’s famed Mambo Brothers as the headliner for the night. The line-up also saw Marini’s on 57 resident DJs, Jeff Jefferson, and RJ Funk hitting the decks at this party which was held in conjunction with Valentines Day.

The MAGGI® Secondary Schools Cooking Competition was introduced in 1997 with the aim of cultivating an interest in cooking among secondary school students whilst raising awareness of the importance of nutritious food and eating a balanced diet. The project is collaboration between MAGGI®, the Ministry of Education, Home Economics teachers, the State Technical and Vocational Unit, and the State Education Department’s Co-Curriculum Unit. Thousands of schools have competed in The MAGGI® Secondary Schools Cooking Competition over its 20-year run, and the challenging and exciting format continues to draw participation year after year. 

2016 Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR)

The regatta is organised annually by the RSYC in association with the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). Selangor Tourism, container port Westports Malaysia and Scottish whisky brand Old Pulteney are the event sponsors.

Known for its unpredictable winds, weather and tide, the RMSIR provides excitement for even the most experienced of sailors, along with an interesting challenge. Add to that a little bit of sightseeing and fun social events at every stop and you have a regatta with everything.

This world-class event requires participating boats to push onwards from the flag-off point of Port Klang to the islands of Pangkor, Penang and Langkawi in an attempt to win the prestigious Raja Muda Cup, among other prizes.

The fleet will take the familiar course along Malaysia’s west coast, and make its way to the various checkpoints via the Straits of Malacca with inshore racing, awards and dinner parties as part of the agenda.
